Dina Nwaokai-Beecham

DINA NWAOKAI-BEECHAM is a former journalist who became a teacher after realizing she wanted to be instrumental in teaching inner city children how to write. She taught elementary and middle schools for the Chicago Public School district for 26 years. She is a product of this very school system. Dina formed P.R.A.T. & Associates, a consulting firm for educators in 1996 to assist schools with conflict management problems, but since then has expanded the focus to include numerous issues in education. P.R.A.T. consultants lecture and facilitate workshops nationally to ultimately affect positive change and education for children. Dina always had a desire to write. Later in life, she realized she could use her writing skills to educate more than just children. Hence, her desire to write books on various topics to help enlighten others, using layman terms for clarity. Her last book is entitled “Memoirs of Cancer,” where she relays her own and other’s cancer experiences in the hope of helping Black Americans understand cancer since African Americans now have the highest death rate from certain cancers in the United States. Her book is both comprehensive and educational in relation to cancer. Dina hold two Master of Science Degrees in Education and is a Golden Key International Scholar.
