Paul Redman is currently the Associate Dean for Administration in the College of Fine and Applied Arts where he oversees college finance, human resource, communication and technology services in support of its seven academic units, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Krannert Art Museum, Japan House and STEM Illinois.

 

For the past eight years Paul was also the Executive Director of DoCha, a music festival offering the community, fun, educational, and casual musical experiences, with no cost to attendees.

 

Paul is originally from New York where he was a professional freelance trombonist and instructor in the Music Advancement Program at the Juilliard School. Prior to coming to the University of Illinois, Paul began a career transition to administration, becoming the Associate House Manager at the Metropolitan Opera.  He holds degrees in Music from the Juilliard School and a MBA from the City University of New York.  Since his arrival in Champaign-Urbana he has been actively engaged in the local community.
