STEM Fest
STEM Fest is a community-wide event held at the Douglass Center. There will be 40-50 STEM stations throughout the center. Following the event, STEM Saturdays will begin. This means, venues will be transformed into a laboratory with 100-150 kids (divided into groups) from different grade levels. For 3.5 hours, volunteers will engage the students and family members in STEM experiments and hands-on activities. Each program will conclude with the students actually building items, ie...catapults, rocket cars, circuits, and motorboats. Moreover, the fest will demonstrate ways to connect teachers to additional resources to enrich what they are doing in the classroom.
